Update from the Development Manager

Minutes:

The Development Manager drew Members’ attention to the two appeals allowed.  The committee were advised the Inspector had allowed the appeal for application 18/2921/FUL on the basis that the removal of the condition requiring obscure glazing of a side window would not result in any detrimental loss of amenity to the occupiers of the neighbouring property.  The committee were also advised the Inspector had allowed the appeal and quashed an enforcement notice in relation to 17/F0246 due to insufficient evidence to demonstrate that the use of the land as a camping site exceeded 28 days in a year.

 

Finally the Committee were advised of a decision for application 18/0789/FUL – Land Adjoining Bluehayes, Broadclyst that Members considered and refused contrary to the officer recommendation at the February meeting.  The Inspector upheld the decision to refuse the construction of two single storey detached dwellings and provision of a footpath link on the basis of the unsustainable location of the site and limited benefit from the footpath.

Members determined that the visual impact from the building would be acceptable if the trees within the site could be adequately protected through the depositing of the soil elsewhere.
