The Assessment Sub-Committee received the report of the Monitoring Officer and discussed the case including hearing the views of the Independent Representative and Town and Parish Representative. The Assessment Sub-Committee, having regard to the report of the Monitoring Officer, the Local Assessment Criteria, and the views of the Independent Person, decided on the progression of the complaint as follows:

·         Other action: that the Monitoring Officer outline to the subject member how the issue has unfolded and explain the appropriate way to deal with members of the public, and that the subject member be  requested to make an apology to the complainant.  If the subject member does not make an apology, the matter be referred back to the Assessment Committee for further consideration.
